Sing, My Tongue, the Savior’s Glory

St. Thomas Aquinas’s classic text—in its well-known English translation by Caswall—is enlivened and refreshed in this new musical setting from Sarah Hart. Her original hymn tune, GAUDENS, provides a more contemporary feel while maintaining ties to tradition through its nod to the Dorian mode and an unsyncopated, speech-like melodic profile. Because this is a complete setting of the entire hymn text (including the Tantum ergo portion of the hymn), it can be used during Adoration (Exposition/Benediction) of the Blessed Sacrament as well as for the Corpus Christi and Holy Thursday liturgies.
